Wales Responsible Business Award categories 2013

Which companies will be acclaimed as the best examples of responsible business practice in Wales this year?

Winners and Highly Commended companies in the Wales Local Impact Awards will be announced at our prestigious Gala Dinner on 26th June.

This year's categories are below.

1. Wales Responsible Business of the Year - Large

For businesses that can demonstrate how they are operating their business in a successful and responsible way; creating a positive impact on the environment and their local community whilst also supporting and developing their workforce and creating positive change in the marketplace in which they operate.

Eligibility:

This Award is open to Business in the Community members, including Wales members and UK members with an operational presence in Wales; or private sector companies headquartered in Wales.
The BITC definition of a large company is as follows:

• Large – The number of employees is 250 or more

 

2. Wales Responsible Business of the Year - Small

For businesses that can demonstrate how they are operating their business in a successful and responsible way; creating a positive impact on the environment and their local community whilst also supporting and developing their workforce and creating positive change in the marketplace in which they operate.

Eligibility:

This Award is open to Business in the Community members, including Wales members and UK members with an operational presence in Wales; or private sector companies headquartered in Wales.
The BITC definition of a small company is as follows:

• Small - The number of employees is less than 250

 

3. Employee Volunteering Company of the Year Award

Recognising the commitment, skills and time dedicated by business volunteers in making a positive impact in their local community.

Eligibility:

The Employee Volunteering Award is open to all members of Business in the Community (BITC) and to any other private sector companies, firms, LLPs or partnerships that have a business presence in Wales. By “private sector” we mean companies that exist to make a profit for their shareholders through the provision of goods or services.

 

4. Work Inspiration Award

Recognising employers that are addressing the talent challenge by turning work experience into Work Inspiration, to bridge the gap between the classroom and the world of work.

Eligibility:

The Work Inspiration Award is open to all members of Business in the Community (BITC) and to any other private sector companies, firms, LLPs or partnerships that have a business presence in Wales. By “private sector” we mean companies that exist to make a profit for their shareholders through the provision of goods or services.

 

5. Wales Environment Award

Recognising the company demonstrating environmental leadership, successfully managing their environmental impact.

Eligibility:

This Award is open to Business in the Community members, including Wales members and UK members with an operational presence in Wales; or private sector companies headquartered in Wales.

 

6. Building Stronger Communities

Recognising genuine partnerships between businesses and community organisations, where businesses have worked with a community partner to identify a key social issue. The award will recognise sustainable projects or initiatives that are making a lasting impact.

The Building Stronger Communities Award is open to all members of Business in the Community (BITC) and to any other private sector companies, firms, LLPs or partnerships that have a business presence in Wales. By “private sector” we mean companies that exist to make a profit for their shareholders through the provision of goods or services.

 

7. Agile Organisation/Diverse Workplaces

Recognising workplace programmes and initiatives that demonstrate commitment and implementation of equitable and flexible working practices that have resulted in a positive impact on the workforce and the business as a whole.

Eligibility:

This award is open to businesses that are based in Wales. The organisation has to be wholly based in Wales, or it could be a local business unit of a larger organisation..
