Re-accreditation for previous winners

If your company was awarded a Big Tick in 2007 and can demonstrate the continuing positive impact of its award-winning initiative, you can apply to have it updated through our re-accreditation scheme. This option is only available to companies that won a Big Tick for the first time in 2007, and 2006 winners that opted to re-accredit their scheme last year.

What is re-accreditation?

Re-accreditation allows recent winners to apply for a 2008 Big Tick using a slimmed-down version of the original submission. Rather than having to resubmit a full 4,000-word application, companies are asked to provide confirmation that the quality of management detailed in their original application is being maintained and give evidence of the positive impact the programme has delivered over the past year.

Companies applying for re-accreditation will not be considered for the national shortlist and so will not be able to win the overall Example of Excellence. If you wish to be considered for the shortlist in your category, you must submit a full entry.

Eligibility

The option to re-accredit a Big Tick is only available for two years immediately following the initial award. Therefore, eligibility for re-accreditation in 2008 is restricted to:

  • new Big Tick winners in 2007
  • companies that first won a Big Tick in 2006 and opted to re-accredit in 2007.

Companies awarded the Big Tick in 2005 or before must submit a fresh entry. If you have any queries about your eligibility to re-accredit contact the awards team.

Re-accreditation is not guaranteed. It will only be awarded to submissions that can clearly demonstrate:

  • the quality of management is being maintained (and improved where appropriate)
  • there is evidence (both quantitative and qualitative) that the programme has continuing benefits for the business and for society.

The results of re-accreditation applications will be announced by 18 April 2008.
