Speedy Hire's Contribution to National Cares Day

On May 16 2008 over three thousand five hundred business men and women, in 24 towns and cities across the UK, gave up their jobs for the day to volunteer in their communities as part of the first National Cares Day.

The equipment was delivered on time and Speedy Hire staff were very helpful in showing us how to use the machinery. Without their donation, we would not have been able to complete the work the school so desperately needed.

All of the Cares Day events involved teams of volunteers out in force to tackle projects with environmental themes from landscaping derelict spaces, to helping schools measure and reduce their carbon footprint. Often specific equipment was required to facilitate the job being done and this is where the generous contribution of companies such as Speedy Hire came into play.

Speedy Hire

Speedy Hire provided an estimated £2000+ worth of tools and equipment on the day, ranging from rotavators and wheel barrels - to a portaloo. This contribution to 9 of our Cares Partnerships enabled their Cares Day events to take place and have an undeniable impact on the local communities and volunteers involved.

Business in the Community would like to once again thank Speedy Hire for all of their help and support on National Cares Day.
