STEP 2: Report your carbon footprint

Once you have measured your business’ carbon footprint, you can then report it.  This allows you to communicate to your employees, customers and the investment community that your business takes climate change seriously and that it is committed to improving its performance.

There are a number of ways that a business can report its carbon footprint:

  • In its annual reports or website
  • Through Indices such as the Environment Index
  • Through internal communication channels, including intranet
  • Confidentially to Business in the Community in its annual May Day Network report-back

Businesses that measure and report their carbon footprint to Business in the Community are entitled to use the prestigious May Day Network logo in their communications to further reinforce their commitment.

Which companies are already reporting?

To see a list of those businesses that made pledges in 2007 and reported their progress to Business in the Community by 1 May 2008, please download the case study submission list below.
