Awards for Excellence

The Awards for Excellence are the UK’s most influential awards recognising responsible business.

On Wednesday 18 June Hackney Empire played host to the Business in the Community London Awards Celebration which recognised over 70 Big Tick winners in London.

Highlights of the evening were the announcement of the winners of The Impact on London Awards by both a Small and Large Company and the presentation to the 2008 HRH The Prince of Wales's Ambassador for London.

The evening, presented by Ronke Phillips, ITN News Correspondent, celebrated the London companies who had achieved a Big Tick standard in the Business in the Community Awards for Excellence. 

2008 HRH The Prince of Wales's Ambassador Award

HRH The Prince's Ambassador's Award is for individuals whose leadership and commitment to responsible business practice and the actions they have taken personally have created a positive impact both inside their company and on wider society.

Patrick Clarke, Director of Connections, EDF Energy won this Award this year.  HRH The Prince of Wales recognised Patrick's work within the MERLIN programme amongst many other projects that he is involved with. 

Marks & Spencer Sieff winner 2008

The Marks & Spencer Sieff Award recognises individuals based in the community who have successfully collaborated with business to benefit society.

Rob Trimble, Chief Executive, Bromley By Bow Centre picked up this year's Award for his long standing commitment to Bromley by Bow Centre and his collaboration with business.
