Ken Lewis
Resources Director, Co-operative Financial Services
Ken Lewis joined The Co-operative Bank as Human Resources Manager in May 1987, after holding Personnel positions at Massey-Ferguson, Dunlop and Grand Metropolitan. He joined the Bank's Executive in October 1988 as Divisional General Manager, Human Resources, reporting to the Managing Director. He was appointed to the Main Board of the Bank in early 1993 with a wider brief as Executive Director, Resources which now covers Purchasing & Facilities, Property, Legal and Planning as well as Human Re-sources.
Ken was appointed Resources Director, CFS on 2 October 2002, with responsibility for Human Resources, Property & Facilities, Procurement & Supplier Management and Legal Services. He also has Executive responsibility for CFS Business Continuity, Environmental and Diversity policies.
Ken is an honours graduate in Economics and Management from Cardiff University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He is an alumni of Harvard Business School, a Member of the CBI Financial Services Council and of the General Council of the Institute of Financial Services.
Ken is married to Mary and they live in Wilmslow, Cheshire and have two children. Their son is a lawyer with a City of London practice, and their daughter is a modern languages graduate working in Financial Services.
Ken is also a keen sportsman, particularly Rugby Union. He also enjoys the theatre, music, cinema and family life.
