Chris Clark was appointed CEO, BT Ireland in July 2007.  Prior to taking up the role, Chris was Director Business Transformation for BT Retail where he managed a radical 2 year transformation programme making BT Retail: Better, simpler, faster and cheaper for its customers and its people.

Prior to that, Chris was CEO of Converged Mobility Operations for BT Retail. In this role, Chris led the commercial and operational performance across BT’s mobility division. This included managing BT Openzone and a wider responsibility for driving both business and consumer take-up of wi-fi for BT Group. Chris was also BT’s representative for the Wireless Broadband Association (WBA) where he was involved in driving European membership and helping turn the WBA into a leading global wi-fi alliance.

From October 1999 to April 2004 Chris was at the heart of BT’s international operations. Chris was President of BT Global Services’ Wholesale Business, a global business unit responsible for delivering in excess of €1.5 billion in revenues, with over 350 people in 16 countries.  This business was created by the bringing together of BT’s former European joint ventures and Concert, BT’s international joint venture with AT&T.  Chris led this business from its formation in April 2002 and prior to this  Chris was CEO of Farland BV, BT’s pan European network company.

From 1996 to 1999 Chris was based in the US where several key business development roles culminated in his position as advisor to BT Worldwide’s President and CEO.  Chris joined BT from university in 1991, and held a number of sales and product development roles before taking up posts in the US.

Chris is married and lives in Dublin with his wife and two young daughters, he is a keen sportsman and regularly competes in triathlons and enjoys tennis, rugby and skiing.  He is also a keen traveller.
