Awards for Excellence West Midlands Celebration 2008
This year's Awards for Excellence West Midlands Celebration took place in early June at Mount Zion, Aston, Birmingham. The theme for the event was `unlocking talent' . The evening was sponsored by Advantage West Midlands, with the support of A.F. Blakemore & son.
The awards made were:
Merrill Lynch Raising Achievement of Young People
Awarded to companies who are supporting the education of children aged 19 and under.
Blakemore Food Service - Re-accreditation
The Midcounties Co-op - Re-accreditation
Power in Partnership Award
This award recognises groups of two or more companies that are having an impact on society through collaborative action.

Wates Employability Award
This award recognises company community programmes that have effectively removed barriers to employment resulting in disadvantaged people finding jobs.

West Midlands Work-life Balance Award supported by Adjust the Balance
This award was developed to recognise companies in the West Midlands running successful work-life balance programmes.

Lafarge Cement UK Eco-Efficiency Award
