Adam Mallalieu
Director of UK Safety, Health & Environment and Corporate Security, National Grid
Adam Mallalieu joined National Grid as the Group Head of Security in January 2004 following a military career spanning over 22 years. In March 2006, in addition to Group Head of Security, he took on the mantle of Director of UK Safety, Health and Environment.
Commissioned into the Royal Marines in September 1981 he served in several Units before passing Special Forces selection in 1988. He is a Masters Graduate from the Royal Naval Staff College (affiliated to Kings College, London).
Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, he was appointed to the British Defence Staff (Washington DC) before assuming command of a Special Forces Regiment. He took early retirement from the military to take up the appointment as Group Head of Security for National Grid.
As Director of UK Safety, Health, Environment and Corporate Security, Adam is responsible for the teams that provide the expertise the business needs to manage its inherently hazardous operations and support line management in delivering a world class SHES performance.
Adam is married to Judith and has 2 sons; Harry aged 18 and Freddie aged 16.
