Age
Employers need to understand their responsibilities and the opportunities associated with age diversity in the workplace.
On October 1, 2006 new legislation came into force making it unlawful to discriminate against any employee or worker on the basis of their age. This legislation encompasses all aspects of employment culture from recruitment through to dismissal and protects all age groups - young and old.
While Business in the Community campaigns widely on diversity in the workplace, specialist support on issues around age can be provided by the Employers Forum on Age.
