Unlocking Talent
Reflecting the priority focus in Business in the Community, in 2008-9 we are taking on the challenge of unlocking the UK’s talent by campaigning around the following areas:
- Transparency, monitoring and reporting on diversity, health & wellbeing, skills and pay
- Agile working: the future workplace
- The role of business leaders in creating inclusive workplace cultures
- Positive role models: expanding the talent pipeline
- Positive action on diversity: what works?
- Building emotional resilience
- Improving health & wellbeing to increase employee engagement and productivity
- Developing learning cultures at work, including effective use of the Skills Pledge
All workplace programmes (e.g. race, gender, skills and workwell) have the following objectives:
- To make clear the economic and business arguments for organisations investing in these key areas
- To promote the benefits of monitoring and reporting on diversity, health & wellbeing, learning & development in the workplace
- To highlight the responsibility and role of leaders in delivering race and gender equality, health & wellbeing and learning cultures
- To speed up the progress, in each of these areas in the workplace, in order to deliver positive benefit to business and society
- To provide employers with practical guidance on how to implement effective equality, health & wellbeing and skills development programmes that have a meaningful impact
