How you can make the Skills Pledge

Business Action on Skills can support you in making the Skills Pledge.

We made the Skills Pledge to show our commitment to a skilled workforce. Whilst we are a high-skill business and the majority of our workforce are qualified above Level 2, we felt that it’s vital for employers to demonstrate the central role of skills in driving business success.

There are 4 straightforward stages:

  1. Making the Skills Pledge
  2. Diagnostic/Analysis
  3. Action Plan
  4. Implementation and Achievement

How you fulfil that commitment is up to you – you're free to choose the timescale and methods that suit your needs. The Skills Pledge is not a legal requirement, and does not change employment contracts.

Our expert account managers will show you how other companies have tackled it, what it means to them, as well as how to help define the business benefits to help you gain buy-in internally.  We will also signpost you to the right government agency to help you through your journey from sector specific information from a Sector Skills Council to detail on funded training from Skills Brokers.
