The world is changing fast...
The changing business world is making skills, talent & aspirations critical for economic success and individual opportunity. By 2020 there will be 3million fewer low skilled jobs in the UK than today. Leading companies are recognising the need to be more involved in work experience, to build new talent and create a skilled and experienced talent pipeline.
146,000 work experience placements for young people have taken place with 538 companies through our Work Inspiration campaign.
We have facilitated 19 Big Conversations in the last two years across the UK, bringing together 600 senior business leaders and 500 young people to discuss work experience. Read about the Big Conversation at WorldSkills 2011
The Campaign provides a free employer tool-kit that includes a number of work books and resources that have been developed to improve work experience. The resources are free and can be applied to improve placements across all sectors. You will also find the Insights which address common short fallings into work experience. To browse resources and news & events, please go to www.workinspiration.com
Chris Jones, Director-General of City & Guilds announced at the Anniversary event on the 15th September 2010, that their Centre for Skills Development is developing an evaluation report of the impact that Work Inspiration is having on young people and businesses.
