Andy Nicholson
President, Global Banking & Financial Markets, BT Global Services
Andy Nicholson is responsible for BT’s business with the largest banks, insurance companies and other financial services organisations in the world.
BT Global Banking & Financial Markets’ customers include brokers, exchanges, clearing houses, securities depositories, payments processors and card processors. The infrastructure it provides supports the world’s top exchanges, top global broker-dealers, top global fixed income securities firms, the world’s top investment managers and the world’s top hedge funds. More than 68,000 traders in over 800 trading firms across over 50 countries use BT’s voice trading solutions, and more than one in three traders worldwide use a BT turret.
Appointed to his current role in April 2009, Andy was previously the head of our UK Finance Industry Solutions division, with responsibility for much of BT’s business with customers across the UK’s financial services industry.
He joined BT as an apprentice in 1983, working as a technical consultant before moving into sales and marketing and service and commercial management.
A proud Yorkshireman, Andy is married and has one teenage son. He lists golf and rugby among his hobbies and spends as much time as possible supporting his son, who plays both cricket and rugby union at county level.
In addition to leading BT Global Banking & Financial Markets, Andy is a member of BT’s Yorkshire and Humberside regional board.
