Anne Reed, Colleague Engagement Adviser, has worked at Yorkshire Water for over 20 years, mainly within the Communications Team managing the company’s education and volunteering programmes.

Anne manages four education centres around the Yorkshire region, which are visited annually by many thousands of children and adults, and is responsible for the development of the education resources which are available to all primary schools in the county.

Yorkshire Water’s flagship volunteering programme ‘One Million Green Fingers’ has won many awards including ‘Community Initiative of the Year’ at the Utility Industry Achievement Awards, CIPR Excellence Award and the CIPR Presidents Grand Prix Award for Corporate Responsibility.  In addition the campaign was ‘Highly Commended’ for the BITC National Example of Excellence in 2009.  With a regular volunteering level of over 30%, Yorkshire Water was the first corporate to achieve Volunteering England’s Investors in Volunteers for Employers accreditation in 2007.

Anne is Chairman of Bradford Cares Operations Team, and also chairs the Water Companies Education Forum.  In her spare time she ‘walks the talk’ as a School Governor, and Chair of the local Scout Group.
