Sir John Mason CBE

Sir John Mason was born in 1940 in Holbeach Lincolnshire.
He has been Senior Partner in the Solicitors’ Practice of Mason Baggott and Garton whose main office is in Scunthorpe since 1978 having been articled to his Father whom he followed into the Practice. After doing general legal work he now tends to specialise in Property, Wills and Probate.
He has an active interest in politics and is President of the Scunthorpe and District Choral Society and President of the Scunthorpe and District Scouts Association. He is a passionate supporter of Scunthorpe United F.C.
He is a Board Member of the North Lincolnshire Strategic Partnership and Chairman of Humberside ProHelp.
Sir John was actively involved in the NHS from 1978 to 2006 having been Chairman of the Scunthorpe and District Health Authority, Chairman of the Scunthorpe and Goole NHS Hospital trust and from 2001 to 2006 Chairman of the North Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust.
He was awarded the CBE in 1989 and in 1994 had the honour of knighthood conferred on him. He was appointed Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire in 2006.
Sir John and Lady Mason are members of the Trust and have lived in Winterton, North Lincolnshire for over 40 years.
