Diane is Head of BBC Outreach and Corporate Responsibility, the department which runs staff volunteering, community projects and partnerships, as well as reporting on how the BBC fulfils its public purposes.
Diane studied chemical physics and worked for ICI as a journalist before joining the BBC in 1981. She produced and directed a wide range of programmes and series until 2002, when she moved to Comic Relief. In 2004 she became Chief Executive of the Community Media Association, before returning to the BBC to oversee Charity Appeals, then joining BBC North as Group Manager. Diane is a Trustee of MAG, an international humanitarian organisation which reclaims land contaminated by landmines.
