Glyn Lee is an Incorporated Engineer who commenced working life as a Mechanical Fitter straight from school. Glyn progressed through project management roles, Authorised Person for Safe Systems of work to energy efficiency and energy management including CRC and ESOS etc.
Glyn’s responsibilities include managing procurement of Electricity, Gas and water in addition to waste and recycling. In Glyn’s words ‘I am responsible for buying energy and then not using it ’.
Glyn’s primary target is to reduce East of England Co-op’s carbon emissions by 3% each year for 10 years commencing 2010. That target has been substantially exceeded to date.
Glyn has worked in environments including MoD, private industry and Local Authority. He was appointed Energy Manager at East of England Co-op, the largest independent retailer in East Anglia, in 2007. The Society’s roots date back to 1846 and it is independent of the Co-operative Group.
East of England Co-op is a member owned Co-operative. It is a business that is for people and communities, not just for profit.
Co-op members tend to place high importance on responsible business operations including ethical environmental performance. My role is key to ensure the Society meets and exceeds members’ expectations both now and into the future.
