Jane Wood currently holds the position of Director of Membership and Nations.
Jane was previously Chief Executive of Scottish Business in the Community (SBC) for six years, up until its merger with BITC, during which time she secured millions of pounds of funding for the charity and worked with the Prince’s Charities in identifying cross-border multi-charity funding to benefit vulnerable groups in ethnicity, poverty, education and health. Her current role within BITC reflects this period of successful leadership and organisational growth.
Previously Head of Corporate Affairs for Scotland and Northern Ireland for Alliance Boots, Jane has worked with both national and local governments on developing public/private sector partnerships in the areas of regeneration, community asset management, retail-led regeneration and corporate responsibility.
Jane currently sits on the Scottish Government’s Child Poverty Strategy Ministerial Advisory Group and has been a government advisor on Welfare Reform and town centre regeneration. She is Non Exec Director of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and is an Advisor for the Iris Foundation.
Jane, who was educated abroad and in St. Andrews, has a keen interest in the arts. She has four children and lives in East Lothian with her husband, Scottish contemporary artist, Christopher Wood RSW.
