Kevin Hurst

Marketing and Communications Director,

Kevin has the responsibility of driving forward Go further together, Veolia Environnement’s Corporate ResponsibilitySustainability programme. His additional responsibilities include the company’s marketing and communications activities within the UK.

Kevin’s influence and social conscience can be seen at every level of the business, from day-to-day operations to steering key strategic decisions. It’s the reason why Veolia is now viewed as an employer of choice, recognised for its policy of local procurement, the strength of its supplier relationships and the diverse range of career opportunities it offers, thanks to investing £5 million every year in learning and development programmes.

Under Kevin’s guidance, Veolia has supported many projects that enhance local sustainability and bring positive benefits to local communities. From its innovative ‘Carbon Bootprint’ with professional football clubs, to working with voluntary organisations to create local reuse and recycling schemes that benefit disadvantaged people, Veolia is a respected company within the community. Kevin was also recently named as one of Business in the Community’s Game Changers.

He has a particular interest in the Social Value Act and is currently working on a model that will determine, for Veolia’s business and associated communities, the actual Social Value a service is able to add with a measurable return on investment. As part of Veolia’s support for this legislation, Kevin is currently working with Hazel Blears MP to co-ordinate a Parliamentary Roundtable to agree a national framework for measuring Social Value.
