Paul is the Sustainable Business Director for the Lloyds Banking Group. In the first part of his career he worked in structured finance but in 2007 he developed and implemented the business case for establishing a sustainable development team to support the Bank’s business customers as they seize the opportunities and manage the risks of the changing world. Paul also developed many of the Bank’s community outreach programmes including work with social enterprises, as well as a period as CEO of the Bank’s largest Foundation.
Paul is currently responsible for developing and advising on the strategy and governance of the Bank’s approach to responsibility, ethics and sustainability. This involves him working with customers, investors, MPs and NGOs, as well as members of the Bank’s Board. Paul is also the Deputy Chariman of the London Sustainable Development Commission and a Senior Associate and Tutor at Cambridge University’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
Formerly Paul has held a number of trustee roles for environmental charities and was an elected member of the UN Environment Programme’s Finance Initiative. Paul is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Business.
