Pete Philp

Group Head of HR Policy, Proposition & Governance, Group Policy & Employment, Human Resources, 

Pete joined RBS straight from school in 1977 and initially spent time in the branch network, carrying out a variety of customer service and lending roles, before moving on to Human Resources in 1987 where he undertook various HR generalist positions. Having moved to HR Shared Services at its inception within RBS in late 1999, Pete was a member of the HR team involved in the acquisition of The National Westminster Bank Group by RBS at that time.

He then worked on a series of NatWest integration projects, including the integration of HR processes across the wider RBS Group. More recently, Pete led the HR BADS (Business Acquisitions & Disposals) virtual team which supports RBS’s ongoing business transformation and change strategy.

He now heads up the RBS HR Policy, Proposition & Governance team, which is responsible for driving the development, delivery and governance of RBS Group's employment policy related proposition.

Pete is married with 2 grown up children, lives in Edinburgh and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.
