Although originally from Bristol, Steve has called the North-East his home for over 26 years. After graduating in Information Technology from Northumbria University (formally Newcastle Polytechnic) in 1992, Steve joined Accenture in 1996 as an applications programmer. He has since worked through a variety of roles for a number of clients and is currently a Technical Delivery Manager within the Newcastle Delivery Centre.
Alongside the day-job, Steve also leads Accenture Newcastle’s corporate citizenship programme (“Time to Volunteer”) and is the chair of BITC’s Business Class South Tyneside cluster. He is also the business partner for Hebburn Comprehensive School. Accenture UK has been offering paid volunteering since 2001 and is committed to providing the team with opportunities to make positive contributions to the communities in which they live and work. There is a strong commitment to corporate citizenship in the North East, with Accenture supporting organisations such as Depaul, Groundwork, Age UK, CoCo, British Heart Foundation and the Bay Food Bank. A key focus for Accenture in Newcastle is raising the profile of STEM in the North East. This is being progressed through facilitating code clubs at primary and secondary schools in the region, along with hosting the annual #NEDigitalGirls event.
Outside of Accenture, Steve is father to two sons and a teenage daughter. He lives with his wife Nicola in Cramlington and in his spare time pursues a life-long passion for music, both as a performer and publisher.
