Theresa Loar joined CH2M HILL in 2005 and leads an international public affairs team which represents the firm’s business interests to government officials, clients, and stakeholders in Washington, DC and in countries around the world.
Ms. Loar has more than 30 years of international experience in the public and private sectors. At CH2M HILL, she has worked with clients in Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East on the political, social, and economic issues related to energy and water resources and the development of major infrastructure programs.
During the Clinton Administration, Ms. Loar worked at the highest levels of the U.S. government to promote and protect women’s human rights, including executive level positions in the White House and the U.S. Department of State.
During her tenure as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer, Ms. Loar served overseas on diplomatic assignments in Latin America and Asia and was responsible for a range of issues from trade policy to refugees and counterterrorism.
Prior to her diplomatic career, Ms. Loar was an entrepreneur and advertising executive in New York City, working on such award-winning campaigns as “Where’s the Beef?” for Wendy’s International. She lives in the Washington, DC area with her husband and grown sons.
