Andy Foster is the Regional Managing Director for Capita and looks after key public sector clients including one of Capita’s flagship contracts with North Tyneside Council.
Through the 15-year partnership with North Tyneside Council, Capita provides a range of ‘Place’ based professional services that support local housing, development and regeneration needs. Locally, Capita has committed to a wide range of initiatives that support the local community, including volunteering, job creation, apprenticeships, outreach with learning providers, fundraising and STEM initiatives with local schools.
Andy trained as a Chartered Trading Standards Officer and spent 20 years within local government tackling damaging community criminal activity such as fraud, scams, fake goods and illegal money lending. He became Chief Operating Officer at the Charted Trading Standard Institute, where he had a dual purpose of leading the commercial arm of the Institute whilst also spearheading its research and campaigning activity across the media and Government before joining Capita in 2014.
Andy has previously served in a non-executive capacity to several other organisations including the Legal Services Board and the British Board of Film Classification. Andy is a Business Mentor for the Prince’s Trust through which he helps 16-24 years olds turn their entrepreneurial aspirations into reality.
Andy is married with three children and a lifelong Grimsby Town fan. When his beloved ‘Mariners’ are not playing at home, he can be regularly found at his local golf club where, in his own words, he dreams of being something other than a very average golfer.
