Access the Buyer is a programme designed by Business in the Community and supported by Santander UK to help SMEs with large businesses and create jobs. This event will bring large companies (Buyers) together with SMEs from the Construction Engineering and related sectors and will feature a combination of purchasing insights, live commercial briefs and interactive breakout sessions.

This interactive event in Hull will bring together buyers from large businesses in the Construction Engineering sector with SMEs.  With a number of high profile, high value construction projects either underway or in the pipeline this is a subject that has particular resonance to the area.

SMEs must be based and trading within the UK, but there is no requirement to be based in Hull.  This event is targeted at CEO/Founder and Business Development Director level attendees.

Insight session from Christopher Bovis, Professor of International and European Business Law at the Business School of the University of Hull.

Christopher is an internationally renowned specialist in public sector management, public and defence procurement and public private partnerships. He is Special Advisor to the United Nations on Public Private Partnerships and Advisor to the European Union on Public Procurement in the Single Market.

He advises national governments in public sector reforms and has been instrumental in structuring flagship public-private partnerships in the UK, EU and overseas as well as being special advisor to the defence sector in many jurisdictions.

He is the author of Public Private Partnerships in the EU, Routledge, and Public Procurement:Case Law and Regulation, by Oxford University Press and has published extensively across the world.
