The third in a series of Ban the Box webinars will feature speakers from Interserve Support Services, J M Scully and Nacro. This event will help employers to understand how to assess the risk and relevance of criminal convictions disclosed during the recruitment process.
Ban the Box asks employers to give ex-offenders a second chance by removing the tick box asking about criminal convictions from online and paper application forms. Employers will then need to understand how to respond to the information that is shared by candidates with criminal convictions and what actions to take as a result. What makes a criminal conviction relevant to your role? What can you do to understand risk? What structures and processes can you put in place to ensure a fair and equal response?
Scott Hill, HR Director at Interserve Support Services and Howard King, Project Director at J M Scully will speak about how their companies respond to the disclosure of criminal convictions. Nacro will highlight the processes and procedures that companies can use to ensure that they positively and effectively assess any criminal convictions disclosed.
Delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions and voice any concerns throughout the online session.
This session builds on our webinars: ‘The legal stuff’ with Unlock and Freshfields; and ‘When and how to ask’ with Working Chance and Nacro.
