With guest speakers from Nacro and Working Chance, this is the second in a series of webinars to support Ban the Box. The event guides employers interested in Banning the Box to an understanding of when and how to ask about criminal convictions during the recruitment process, if at all.
Ban the Box asks employers to give ex-offenders a second chance by removing the tick box asking about criminal convictions from online and paper application forms.
This webinar will help employers interested in Banning the Box to understand when and how to ask about criminal convictions during the recruitment process, if at all. When's the best time to ask? How best to do it? How can employers encourage positive disclosure of criminal convictions? Delegates will also have the opportunity to ask questions and voice any concerns throughout the online session.
This session builds on the first webinar held in December 2013 in which Chris Stacey from Unlock unravelled some of the legal considerations about recruiting people with criminal convictions - such as understanding the difference between spent and unspent convictions and what a 'conviction' actually means.
