This free course, leading to an accredited Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH) Level 2 Award in Understanding Health Improvement, will give attendees the knowledge they need to become workplace health champions.
The course covers examples of inequalities in health within the UK along with some of the lifestyle factors that can impact on health and well-being, and outlines how to help others improve their health through effective communication.
It is designed to give individuals the information they need to become Workplace health champions. The role of Workplace health champions includes:
Acting as point of contact for people who want to engage in wellbeing activities
Providing up to date information about health and wellbeing and signposting to local services
Encouraging participation in national and local health campaigns
Being an enthusiastic liaison with the Public Health trainer and BITC and attending Health Champion practice sharing meetings
Responding to evaluation requests (e.g. numbers of people spoken to about health issues, involvement in health campaigns etc)
The course is assessed by a multiple-choice exam consisting of 30 questions.
