HR Director Dinner series: Future Skills and Lifelong Learning

Date:

Time: to

Venue:
London EC1N

This dinner will give senior HR practitioners the opportunity to discuss how employers can take a strategic approach to preparing their workforce for the digital transformation.

The employment landscape is changing at an unprecedented rate through the digital transformation, and it is estimated that up to 10 million jobs in the UK are expected to be radically affected by automation and digitalisation by 2035.

However, despite rapid technological advances and sweeping educational reforms, employers are seeing skills shortages widen rather than decrease. This has been compounded by a marked decline in the amount of in-work training provided by employers. As result, only 1 in 3 employers feels like they are ready to respond to the demands of their future workforce.

This dinner will give senior HR practitioners the opportunity to discuss how employers can take a strategic approach to preparing their workforce for the digital transformation, including by identifying opportunities to upskill and reskill employees for future roles. It will also give attendees the opportunity to discuss how employers can take action to ensure that those furthest from the labour market are supported to access good quality employment opportunities and not become excluded from the technical transformation.
