Hosted by Accenture, discuss how to realise the opportunities intelligent technologies represent while responsibly managing the transition for employees and your wider value chain.
Intelligent technologies - including Analytics, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics - are reshaping the future of work, automating routine tasks, while enhancing activities that involve social, emotional or complex skills. Workers in entry-level or mid-career jobs where a high proportion of time is spent on routine, automatable activities will experience the biggest change.
BITC and Accenture’s Brave New World report identified that whilst there is significant scope for certain roles to be enhanced in this rapidly changing landscape, some estimate as many as 10 million jobs could be at risk from automation in the UK by 2035.
Businesses need to plan for this new landscape both to realise the opportunities intelligent technologies represent, and to manage the transition responsibly for their employees and wider value chain. This will require collaboration across sectors and a rethink of what skills will be needed in the future to ensure no one is left behind.
