This free training session is designed to help employers tackle and manage alcohol misuse in the workplace.

With up to 17 million sick days taken each year in the UK because of alcohol, this training session will provide valuable tools, information and case studies to help you improve the health and wellbeing of your employees.

Areas covered include:

  • Facts and myths about alcohol- statistics, units, safe limits, sobering up and driving

  • Definitions of key terms

  • Developing a policy

  • Providing support and taking disciplinary action

  • Supporting the substance misuser

  • Testing for drug and alcohol misuse at work

Trainer Simone Black is a fully qualified teacher and has worked in the substance misuse field for over 10 years, training in both the statutory and voluntary sectors and within business. She has consulted on workplace drug/alcohol policies for large multinational and local SME businesses and trained staff at all levels of these businesses to reduce harm from drug use.
