A chance for Business in the Community members to meet the people who run the remarkable Gloucester Services and see responsible business practice at its best.
If you're familiar with Tebay Services on the M6 in Cumbria, the new Gloucester Services will need no introduction.
For those of you who are not, come and see an excellent example of responsible business practice at its best.
Hear the story of a family from Cumbria, driven by vision and values, who set up a business that has the environment and the local community at its heart and soul and who have now expanded into the SW. From the stunning building that meets BREEAM standards of excellence, to the workforce sought from long-term unemployed on the neighbouring estates; from the farmshop selling sausages made on-site and locally sourced, really smelly cheese, to the flowers in the loo (that are "grown not flown").
Come and hear from the people that make up Gloucester Services - Gavin, Business Manager; Mark, Director of the Gloucestershire Gateway Trust; one of their key suppliers and one of their truly inspirational employees. Come and meet other BITC member practitioners who share similar jobs, successes and challenges to yourself. Or just come for a fascinating tour of this special place, have some delicious food and do some sneaky Christmas shopping. You can even fill up with fuel whilst you're there!
