Business in the Community's South West Advisory Board invites teachers to experience how to teach young people about local employment opportunities as part of the curriculum. The event will be supported by local businesses who will provide up-to-date, 'real life' local examples.

Business in the Community's South West Advisory Board invites teachers to a twilight session to hear the latest local labour market information for South West England. Businesses who are part of the local Business Class cluster will share information to enhance teachers' knowledge of local opportunities, the skills needed to access them and how this can be embedded in lessons and shared with students.
Teachers have the opportunity to join two workshops delivered by businesses. The workshops cover Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Marketing and Sustainability.

    • Teachers will have a choice of attending two workshops. In each workshop, they will hear more about that role, the opportunities available and skills required. Each workshop will have an interactive activity and time for questions and answers

    • Business in the Community to suggest potential curriculum projects businesses could support schools to create which incorporate careers information, real life business scenarios and skills development.

Who should attend?
Teachers with careers education, information, advice and guidance responsbilities may find the session particularly useful, but it may also be of interest to any teacher looking to embed 'real life' examples into their teaching.
