Peer Learning Forum: Introduction to The Circular Office Initiative - Bristol

Time: to

Bristol BS1

This workshop will explore opportunities and try out new ideas towards greater circularity in offices

Most of us have a physical place of work in some form, and these offices have a substantial impact on the way you work and on the environment. Implementing a Circular Office in your organisation is about changing the way you design, use and operate your office to eliminate waste and create more efficient, resilient spaces. This requires a change in mindset from throwing things away after we have made use of them to refurbishing, recycling and regenerating items at the end of their life.

During the session, we will explore opportunities, learn and share, and try out new ideas towards greater circularity in offices. Participants will have an opportunity to:
  • Learn more about the Circular Office initiative and how businesses can participate
  • Hear from members of BITC's Circular Economy Taskforce about the work they are involved in from changing how they source, recycle and dispose of office goods (including food, paper, plastic, office furniture, textiles and electronics) to agile working, designing new offices and changing employees’ behaviour. Speakers include Viridor and Interface.
  • Explore initial ideas for action within your organisation in roundtable discussions
Ample time will be allocated for informal networking.
