Come along to our next Practitioner Network meeting which will cover the topic of alcohol and its impact on the workplace!

 

  • Workplace alcohol abuse is becoming more and more of a problem, with an estimated 17-18 million lost working days in the UK annually.

  • An estimated 1.6 million people are dependent on alcohol.

  • Alcohol-related crime and disorder is thought to cost the taxpayer between £8 and £13 billion a year.

  • In England alone 10 million adults are drinking more than recommended daily limits. That means 1 in 4 of your workforce.

Speakers

  • Norfolk Police will be talking about the relationship between alcohol and crime and discussing their Christmas drink drive campaign, they will also be giving advice on how your organisation can raise awareness of this within the workplace.

  • Simone Black of Simone Black Drug/Alcohol Training (http://www.simoneblack.co.uk/index.html) will also be discussing how you can raise awareness of drug/alcohol issues within the workplace and harm reduction techniques amongst staff and management. Simone will also offer advice around reviewing your own alcohol policy and sharing best practice.
