Peter Simpson, Anglian Water's Chief Executive:

“We were extremely honoured to be named Responsible Business of the Year, it is such a prestigious endorsement for our business, and for our Love Every Drop strategy.

This award, is a wonderful endorsement of our employees, suppliers, and customers who have been part of our sustainability journey and made Love Every Drop a reality. Our Love Every Drop approach is a vision for how we believe a modern utilities company should be run. That vision means creating a country with a resilient environment that enables sustainable growth and can cope with the pressures of climate change; creating an infrastructure that is affordable and reliable, meeting the needs of customers, communities and the environment.

We want our people and our communities to be resilient too. We want to show how businesses in the UK can be trusted by customers and communities, to work with a purpose and create a positive legacy in the most challenged communities.”

This year’s event will showcase Anglian Water’s work and the positive change that has happened as a result.

Anglian Water’s collaboration with businesses, local government and civic society plus its long-term commitment to and pride in Wisbech has achieved outstanding results; from education and training partnerships raising aspirations and attainment; to kickstarting the local economy with improved transport links; to developing the visionary master-plan for a climate resilient Wisbech Garden Town.

The Gala will serve as a catalyst for our audience to step up too and meet the challenge of the Great Expectations we have of each other – whether as employees and suppliers, as businesses changing lives or as the next generation.
