arc

arc connects social enterprises with big businesses, sharing expertise and innovation to create bigger, better businesses and jobs for local communities.

arc provides a comprehensive support service to help social enterprises grow and create jobs, connecting them to business expertise, access to finance and supply chain opportunities.

Businesses and social entrepreneurs share skills and create sustainable benefits for staff, customers and communities.

arc is supporting social enterprises to create jobs for deprived communities in London and Yorkshire. Over the past few years it has provided over 150 social enterprises with bespoke support including access to business enterprise from arc Corporate Partners, subsidised training, social impact consultancy, discounted premises and supply chain introductions.

Over 4,400 people have been placed in employment by arc social enterprises helped by this support; 2,401 of these in East London; 1,129 in West London and 12 in Yorkshire. This represents an estimated saving of £20.7m* to the state and a contribution of £221m Gross Value Added to the UK economy.

It's those most in need being helped by the jobs created. Of the 4,417 people placed into jobs by December 2016, 2,105 (48%) were from disadvantaged backgrounds, including 1,199 long-term unemployed individuals, 504 ex-offenders, 213 people who had previously been homeless and 376 people with a physical or mental disability.
