Edward has his roots firmly planted in the food industry. Raised on a mixed livestock farm in Carmarthenshire, he has worked in all stages of the food chain from agriculture to processing to retail, and is now employed as the Managing Director of Celtica Foods Ltd, the catering butchery division of Castell Howell Foods.
Having left the farm in the early 1990’s Edward studied at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (now Cardiff Metropolitan University) and pursued a career in the red meat processing sector in Scotland. On his return to Wales he gained employment with Castell Howell Foods in Carmarthen, initially as Cash and Carry manger graduating to Key Foodservice Account Manager and in
2014 returned to the meat sector as Butchery Director.
Sustainability in the food sector is important to Castell Howell. Sourcing locally and responsibly is embedded in company's culture and has helped underpin the growth of the business.
Edward is also the Wales Advisory Board's Rural Champion.
