Geoff Lane is a Partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the UK, with responsibility for our work on Sustainability & Climate Change issues. He is part of a team of nine Partners and over a hundred full-time staff in the UK working on a range of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Corporate Responsibility related projects.
Geoff has a degree in Biology and a Masters degree in Environmental Technology. Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers he was Head of Environmental Policy at the Confederation of British Industry. He was with the CBI for five years, where he had responsibility for formulating and promoting CBI Policy on environmental issues in the UK and internationally.
He joined PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 1991 and has worked on a policy, management and risk appraisal and assurance projects for private and public sector clients and international institutions both in the UK and internationally. His clients have ranged from the World Bank and the European Commission to SABMiller, Sainsburys, Shell , Unilever and HSBC. He is also leading PwC sustainability reviews for a number of Private Equity houses.
In addition, he has also worked with sector based organisations, for example in the tea, jewellery, financial services and paper product sectors, to help develop sector level approaches to sustainability. Geoff has worked extensively throughout Western and Eastern Europe and Central Asia and in North America and Africa during his time with the firm, which has taken him to over 40 different countries.
In addition to Geoff’s work with clients, he is also involved in a number of external organisations. He is PwC’s Liaison Delegate at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and was a member of the Advisory Group of HRH The Prince of Wales Accounting for Sustainability Initiative and is a Faculty member with the Cambridge Programme for Sustainable Leadership.
