Mark Calvert is Chief Executive of Adler & Allan.
Mark joined Adler & Allan in 1993, when the business was a one-depot business delivering oil and environmental services to the London area.
Since then Mark has driven significant growth, both organically and by acquisition. The business now has 500 staff, 400 vehicles and 24 depots, strategically located across the UK. The primary focus of the business is to deliver emergency and planned response to environmental incidents.
Mark’s vision was to create the UK’s leading disaster response company, able to mobilise immediately anywhere in the country. This was put to the test when the Buncefield oil terminal suffered a huge explosion in 2005. Mark personally managed the successful response and subsequent clean-up.
In addition to emergency response, the business provides asset protection products and services, together with a range of professional services, such as contaminated land investigation and contingency planning.
Mark has held the role of Chairman of UK Spill, the response industry’s trade association and sits on the Board of the Oil Industries Club.
Mark is 48 years old, lives in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire and believes that his experience in the incident and disaster response will benefit the aims and objectives of the BERG leadership group.
