Minnie has led the East of England Co-op’s engagement on responsible business. The company won a Business in the Community’s Responsible Business Award for its work in supporting supply development in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Its support of local producers has ploughed over £62m back into the local economy. Minnie is recognised as a business leader in the East of England and is well integrated within the development of the local economy in Suffolk, being a Suffolk Business Ambassador and sitting on the Boards of Suffolk Business Women and Ipswich Business Improvement District (BID). Minnie is also an Ambassador for Fresh Start – New Beginnings, a charity supporting victims of child sexual abuse.
Minnie leads the Co-op’s engagement with members and communities. As part of this, the East of England Co-op is working to become the region’s leading dementia-friendly retailer. It has trained over 80% of its colleagues as Dementia Friends and won national recognition in 2016 by being awarded The Princess Royal Training Awards and Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friendly Organisation of the Year. Currently, the company has 8 serving prisoners from Hollesley Bay Prison working in the business.
