Nick Freeman is Assistant General Manager of Corporate Planning and External Affairs at Toyota Manufacturing (UK) Ltd.
Nick joined Toyota Manufacturing UK as an Engineer in 1991 and was originally responsible for developing the factory automation systems.
Since that time Nick has held a variety of management roles within the company, including engineering, project management and production planning, before taking up his current role which covers a broad range of CSR issues; from business planning and governance to stakeholder engagement and community relations.
In addition to the East Midlands Advisory Board of BITC Nick is a member of the Regional Council of the CBI, the Corporation of Derby College and Chair of the Derby College Education Trust.
Nick started his career as an engineering apprentice at Pirelli Tyres. After graduating from Nottingham Trent University, with a BEng Hons in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, he worked for Lucas Industries in South Wales and during which time he gained an MSc in Manufacturing Systems. Nick left Lucas Industries to work for Toyota.
Nick is married with two teenage children.
