Nick hails from Yorkshire and having graduated from Oxford, qualified as a chartered accountant with a small firm in the South.
Following qualification he joined KPMG and gradually worked his way up the country via Bristol, London and Manchester. After 12 years in Manchester, during which Nick became a partner and lead the firm’s Retail business in the North, he relocated to the Newcastle office at the start of 2008.
Nick specialises in audit and transaction services. In Manchester he worked with the Co-operative Group for many years, advising on financial and stakeholder reporting including their award winning CSR report.
KPMG is one of the Big 4 accountancy firms recognised for their strong commitment to the community, not least in their retention in 2009 of first place in the Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work for. KPMG is a strong supporter of BiTC and its Newcastle office has a strong reputation for its role in the north east community. Our role on the BiTC North East leadership team is a natural extension of this and Nick is delighted to be joining the team. He strongly believes that business’ support for the key social, economic, environmental and cultural priorities of its communities is not only a moral obligation but one that will be more than compensated by the commercial benefits.
