Has been employed by PD Ports, or its predecessors, for the past 37 years of which the last 9 years have been based in the Humberside area. The initial relocation in May 2006 was to oversee the management of Hull Container Terminal but has now moved to a broader geographical base covering activities on both banks of the Humber. PD Ports employs nearly 400 people in the region at 6 different operating centres. The main focus of role is driving the business forward within the Humber area, establishing a platform where there is continuous delivery of service and sustained growth.
Lives in Beverley with wife Maureen where moved to on relocation and regards town as very much home, although does spend a lot of time supporting Middlesbrough FC where has been a season ticket holder for 30 years. Main interests outside of work revolve around football, cricket, rugby league and horse racing. Is also actively involved in politics at a local level and is a former Mayor of Beverley.
