Pete has worked in the Environment Agency and predecessors for over 20 years in a wide range of regulatory, technical and leadership roles including climate change, waste regulation, biodiversity and flood risk management.  Previous to this he worked in the voluntary sector, in wildlife conservation.  Now in a senior leadership position, Director Water, Land and Biodiversity, he is responsible for leading on work on water quality, water quantity, farming, contaminated land, wildlife and fisheries.
