Place Leadership Team

BITC is working with its members to transform communities, place by place. Building on learning from over 35 years working to create healthy communities with successful business at their heart. BITC is seeking to bring together the skills and resources of business, in partnership with all members of the community, including charities and the public sector, to take a long-term approach to help some of our communities in greatest need thrive again. This builds on our pilot in Blackpool and the work of Anglian Water in Wisbech to drive long-term, sustainable change from the ground up.
Our newly convened Place Leadership Team, chaired by one of our founder members Marks & Spencer, will help us:
  • To understand the issues that are contributing to a fractured society and how companies can help tackle them
  • To radically re-imagine how companies can collaborate to make significant impact in our towns and cities
  • To develop long term cross sector partnerships in places to tackle systemic issues
  • To significantly increase the number of businesses having a positive impact in both cities and towns across the UK
