- Supporting sustainable communities: the company has high levels of BAME recruitment in its workforce and over 12% of staff are BAME. In some regions where its retail stores are located, its recruits above the regional average for BAME.
Business impacts
- Sainsbury’s has increased the embedding of inclusion within its HR workforce: in September 2019, it found that applications from BAME candidates rose to 38%, shortlisting to 36%, invitations to interviews to 34% and 21% of BAME candidates who applied were offered a job with the company.
