Dean Witherington currently works as Retail Claims Director at AXA UK Insurance. He has 35 years working in Insurance claims & claims project management. He is a Chartered Insurer and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and also has a BA(Hons) degree in Insurance Management.
Dean has experience in working as part of a UK Claims leadership team, working within global frameworks and within international teams. Most of his career was spent at Zurich Insurance followed by almost three years at NFU Mutual and now AXA. His experience includes operational management, strategic development of insurance claims solutions, analytics, creation of management information and analysis of performance.
Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace is important to Dean and AXA, as are the rights of individuals to access work whatever their circumstances. In his current role Dean see’s the direct effect of climate change and the serious impact that it is having on people’s lives already. By joining the Business in the Community (BITC) West Midlands Leadership Board, Dean hopes to directly contribute to awareness of these issues and help drive change, bringing the full support of AXA UK Insurance to the table.
Outside of work Dean has two teenage children and a beautiful old Labrador. He enjoys travelling, live music and theatre.
