Duncan has led an international career in financial services spanning nearly 30 years and eight countries across Asia, North America, the Middle East and Europe. He has undertaken many roles, primarily in commercial banking but extending to private banking, operations, learning and development and retail banking.

Duncan leads a specialists team that delivers customer service to a large, nationwide portfolio of small- and medium-sized businesses through HSBC UK’s retail branches, and telephony centres.

Throughout his career, Duncan has demonstrated a passion for entrepreneurship, risk management and people. He believes his current role is the perfect marriage of these elements. It is this focus that he seeks to bring to the Business Emergency Resilience Group Leadership Team.

Duncan is an alumnus of Loughborough University where he studied banking and finance. He is married with two teenage sons and, in his spare time, enjoys cycling, golf, reading and travelling.

The purpose of BITC’s Business Emergency Resilience Group (BERG) Leadership Team is to mobilise support for small businesses to better prepare for, respond to, and recover from business disruptions such as flooding and cyber-attacks.
